It is worth mentioning that as early as May this year, the iOS version of ChatGPT was launched and successfully landed on mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad. In contrast, Google's Bard Chatbot currently has no special mobile application, while Microsoft launched Bing chat tool on the mobile end in February this year, covering Android and iOS applications.

However, there have been some doubts about ChatGPT recently, with some users stating that the reasoning ability and output of the GPT-4 model have decreased compared to previous versions. OpenAI responded to this statement and stated that it will continue to update the API interface to improve the user experience. However, from the data point of view, the network traffic and application installation of ChatGPT declined in June. In the US market, the download volume of the iOS version of ChatGPT application decreased by 38% compared to the previous month, global desktop and mobile device traffic decreased by 9.7% compared to the previous month, independent user visits to the website also decreased by 5.78%, and visitors' stay time on the website decreased by 8.5%. This also coincides with Meta's announcement of the commercial version Llama 2 of its open-source large model LLaMA.

The commercial version of Meta's Llama 2 will provide a powerful free choice for startups and other businesses, which undoubtedly competes with expensive proprietary models from companies such as OpenAI and Google. It is particularly noteworthy that Meta's Llama 2 will be released by Microsoft through its Azure cloud service and will run on the Windows operating system. Although the relationship between Microsoft and OpenAI was once close, recently Microsoft has supported products that may reduce the value of OpenAI. A spokesperson for Microsoft explained, "Allowing developers to choose the type of model to use will help expand Microsoft's position as the preferred cloud platform for artificial intelligence work." This also shows that Microsoft places great importance on the competition for market share.

Against the backdrop of Meta's collaboration with Microsoft, OpenAI launched the Android version of ChatGPT as a response. If this application is as popular on the Android platform as the iOS version, OpenAI may see some significant changes in its browsing data in the coming weeks.
